Annotated/Contextualized Links.
One of my favorite links/references from my blogs has been Lana Del Rey's music video, National Anthem. It would be an excellent video to use as a resource in the rhetorical analysis section of English 1101. I plan on using it in the future, especially if I am fortunate enough to have an opportunity to work in special education. It's fun, interesting, and helps to make rhetorical connections in students.
Without a doubt, Naming What We Know was excellent. It helped me to understand theories, writing processes, and so much more. I was glad to be able to use the book as a resource, and I hope to continue to expand my knowledge of pedagogy and threshold concepts.
NCTE also provided many helpful resources for my learning and writing processes. Their position statements were helpful for me as well with understanding the process of teaching English.
This video on multimodal literacies was not only interesting, but helpful as well. It helped me with understanding multimodality and how it involves itself in our culture and in our classroom environments.
I also enjoyed Taylor Swift's Mirrorball song as a reference to the process of teaching. It's okay to "mirror" other teachers and perspectives in the classroom, as long as you acknowledge your own.
